General Staff Qualifications
- Have a vital relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to share Him with others.
- Be in agreement with the statement of faith, purpose, and objectives of Cove Valley Christian Youth Camp.
- Be wiling to forego personal liberties and luxuries for the common good of the camp and/or campers.
- Be flexible and able to work with campers and other staff members with a Christ-like servant attitude.
- Have an understanding of the Bible and read it daily.
- Be able to share with a person about what it means to be a Christian, and be able to lead them into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must pass three background checks (PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprints). You will receive more info after being hired.
2026 Staff Reference Info
- You will need 3 Reference People (1. Pastor, 2. Employer/Teacher/Coach, 3. Non-Related Adult). Your Reference People should not be a parent or relative.
- Once you complete the application process, an automated email will be sent to your Reference People.
- They will fill out the reference online and submit it directly to camp via email.
For All Junior Staff Applicants
- The deadline for Jr. Staff Applicants’ paperwork is February 20, 2026.
- You must attend Operation Cooperation – March 13-15, 2026.
Three Ways to Earn Extra Money!
1. Recruitment Bonus – For every New Hired Senior Staff Member that you recruit, you will receive a $50 bonus. If the person that you recruited works all summer, you will receive an additional $50.
2. All Summer Bonus – For Senior Staff Members (Must attend the full Staff Orientation to be eligible for this bonus!)
- $400 – Work 4 weeks
- $500 – Work 5 weeks
- $600 – Work 6 weeks
- $700 – Work 7 weeks
3. Staff Retention Bonus – For every past summer that you have worked as a Jr. Staff Member, you will receive an additional $5 in your weekly check. For every past summer that you have worked as a Sr. Staff Member, you will receive an additional $10 in your weekly check.

2026 Summer Camp Employment Opportunities
The Assistant Program Directors (1 male/1 female) work with the Program Director in the planning, supervision, and running of summer camps. Pay – $245 per week
Senior Counselor – responsible for the safety, supervision, and spiritual nurture of 5-10 campers. They will also give leadership to and work with their Jr. Counselor. Pay – $208 per week
Junior Counselor – responsible for assisting the Senior Counselor in the safety,
supervision, and spiritual nurture of 5-10 campers. Pay – $104 per week
Senior A/V Tech – responsible for taking pictures/videos, creating slideshows, operating sound, keeping pictures organized, and providing leadership for the Jr. A/V Tech. Pay – $208 per week
Jr. A/V Tech – works with the Senior A/V Tech to take pictures/videos, create slideshows, operate sound, and keep pictures organized. Pay -$104 per week
The Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of all campers and staff at all waterfront locations. Pay – $208 per week
*Camp will cover the cost for certification/recertification if working the entire summer.
Dining Room Host/Hostess – responsible for supervising kitchen aides and overseeing dining room preparation, serving, and meal clean-up. Pay – $208 per week
Kitchen Aid – responsible to assist the Host/Hostess in preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals. Pay – $104 per week
Senior Maintenance Helper – assists the Maintenance Director in the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and equipment belonging to camp. Pay – $208 per week
Junior Maintenance Helper – assists the Maintenance Director & the Sr. Maintenance Helper in the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and equipment belonging to camp. Pay – $104 per week
The Elective Instructor is responsible for planning exciting and interesting activities as well as supervising and interacting with the campers. Pay – $168 per week
The Nurse must have at least 2 years of nursing training (RN, LPN, or equivalents preferred), and be currently certified in First Aid and CPR. The Nurse is responsible for the safety and health of campers and staff. Pay – $275 per week
